2020 Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon Opens for Registration
Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon during Shanghai International Blockchain Week has been one of the greatest attractions to numerous talented blockchain developers with quests highly relevant to the hot spots in the blockchain industry.
2020 Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon is taking place on Oct.23rd -25th both online and offline. Contestants will be able to choose to do their tasks either at the venue specified by the host Wanxiang Blockchain Labs or through the Internet.
Task
Under the theme of “Innovate North Bund with Blockchain+”, this year’s hackathon will take North Bund in the Hongkou District of Shanghai, China as an application scenario for talented contestants from home and abroad to explore exciting solutions.
North Bund, located at the north of Shanghai and surrounded by the Huangpu River, boasts not only rich cultural and historical resources, but also economic highlights like finance, shipping and the Global 5G Innovative Harbor built with new technologies. How can we keep making breakthroughs in more industries like education, healthcare, culture, business, etc.to further innovate North Bund?
To answer this question, we sincerely welcome talented individuals and teams to empower North Bund with Blockchain+ solutions. You will be required to solve specific problems in industries like finance, shipping, education, healthcare, etc. with creative solutions empowered by the innovative integration of blockchain and other new technologies like IoT, AI, 5G, cloud computing, etc.

COVID-19 Control and Prevention Requirements
Contestants who will attend the hackathon at the offline venue must obey the COVID-19 Control and Prevention Requirements set by Shanghai municipal government and may be asked to take necessary health examinations.
When checking in, all contestants must take temperature. You will be allowed to participate the hackathon if your temperature is lower than 37.4℃.
Those come from regions where COVID-19 is still raging may be required to show their Nuleic Acid Testing Report issued within 5 days.

About Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon
Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon brings together the world’s best teams to develop blockchain applications in real world scenarios. In early 2016, Wanxiang Blockchain Labs hosted the first blockchain hackathon in China. Many contestants of this hackathon later became famous entrepreneurs and technical experts in the industry. The topic of 2018 Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon was “Blockchain + Wanxiang Innova City”. Wanxiang Blockchain played a leading role in building this smart city in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, China with many other blockchain companies and institutions. This smart city empowered by digital technologies like blockchain, cloud computing, big data, IoT and AI, will be able to become a homeland for a population of 90,000 where they will live and do academic and manufacturing work. This has so far been the largest blockchain application scenario where participants can make the best of their creative ideas.
2019 Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon was hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and Karma, the premium electronic car brand, under the topic of “Blockchain + The Automobile Industry”. Participants were requested to develop blockchain solutions to automobile related scenarios like new energy automobile, smart transportation, automobile manufacturing, etc.
At the beginning of 2020 when the world suffered from the COVID-19, Wanxiang Blockchain threw an online hackathon to look for blockchain solutions to socio-economic problems brought by the virus. By addressing these problems with blockchain, we hoped to improve risk resistance ability of all industries and help them to grow in a sustainable way.
Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon has contributed numerous technical talents and creative ideas to the industry. Many winners of our hackathons have grown into major powers for promoting the development of this industry.
