2021 Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon Challenges and Prizes
After kicking off on Aug.3, 2021 Wanxiang Blockchain Hackathon has been attracting new sponsors and the prize pool keeps expanding. By now, the prize provided by the organizer Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and sponors Protocol Labs, Web3 Foundation, Qtum and Moonbeam has exceeded $59,000!
On top of that, the winner of the organizer’s challenge will get the opportunity to showcase their project at the Seventh Global Blockchain Summit.
All contestants may take both the organizer’s challenges and the sponsors’ challenges at the same with one project and compete for the chance to win both the organizer’s prizes and the sponsors’ challenges.

Protocol Labs welcomes all developers, regardless of their experience level, to explore new and creative ideas. Any project using Filecoin and/or IPFS or any of the decentralized storage services building on top of them (e.g., Estuary, Slate, nft.storage, web3. storage…) may submit for our prizes.
1. Store your application’s data in a decentralized manner
As a decentralized storage network, Filecoin encourages hackers to store their valuable data on Filecoin for various applications. We highly encourage hackers to store and retrieve data on Filecoin via storing helpers such as Estuary, nft.storage, textile, web3.storage, etc.
2. Make Filecoin builders’ life easier
Please take the advantage of your experience with Filecoin and Blockchain technology, explore the ways or potential tools to remove any pain points to bring a better developer experience for the Filecoin builders.
3. Connect web3 world to Filecoin
One of the biggest potentials of Filecoin is to be able to connect to existing blockchain networks and provide the easy access of decentralized storage for any dapps which are looking to store their data on Filecoin. Therefore, we would love to see hackers build those bridges to connect Filecoin to other isolated networks in web3.

Protocol Labs’ provides a total reward of $15,000, for advocating developer to choose our track, we setup a general rewards that any applications could achieve it only if they used Filecion/IPFS:

Web3 Foundation Challenges
Web3 Foundation welcomes creative projects built on Substrate regarding blockchain building, blockchain tools, Wasm interoperability, etc. to submit for our prizes.
CATEGORY 1: BUILD A BLOCKCHAIN
In this category, you are challenged to build a custom blockchain using Substrate. In the near future, your chain will have the ability to plug into the Kusama Relay Chain for interoperability and plug-and-play security.
CATEGORY 2: OPEN HACK
In this category, we want you to push the limits of what’s possible. Be creative, break things, make us laugh, make us cry. Test suites, visualizations, Wasm interoperability, and everything in between qualifies for this category. Shock us with your brilliance.
Web3 Foundation Prizes
Excellent contestants will be awarded the opportunities to join Web 3.0 Bootcamp, Polkadot Decoded, Substrate Course and Substrate Seminar.
Qtum Challenge
Qtum is an open sourced public blockchain platform. Based on both PoS & PoW, Qtum leverages the security of UTXO while enables the function of multiple virtual machines. We boast thousands of nodes around the world and are able to be both energy efficient and decentralized. In this hackathon, we invite talented developers to build NFT applications on Qtum blockchain to empower the construction of smart cities.

Moonbeam Challenges
Moonbeam invites developers from different areas to build dapps with development tools on Moonbeam. Creative solution built with Solidity and tools like Truffle, Hardhat, Remix, Metamask,etc. are warmly welcomed.
1. Wallet and DeFi Tools
Use Moonbeam and other cross-chain protocols such as ChainBridge to create a digital asset wallet application that allows users to manage their digital assets across different L1 networks, including conducting cross-chain transactions of assets to move them from one chain to another.
2. Data Visualization/UI Tools for Multi-chain Data
The aggregation and manipulation of multi-chain data will be crucial to a range of applications and dev tools within the Moonbeam ecosystem. Create tools, API’s and UI’s to aggregate, analyze and display data pulled from Moonbeam/Moonriver, Ethereum, and other Ethereum or Substrate compatible blockchains.
3. Staking DApp
Build a web application using the Staking Precompile Solidity interface (https://docs.moonbeam.network/staking/stakingprecompile/) that enables users to stake their Moonriver tokens. The ideal application is intuitive and well-designed, and makes it easy for users of all kinds (people both familiar with DeFi and individuals who are new to crypto) to stake their Moonriver tokens.
4. NFT Showcase / Gaming
Build a web application that allows users to show off their NFTs they have collected. Can also be used to feature gaming badges / skins / levels. The idea is to make an elegant application where a user can proudly show off their entire NFT collection.
Moonbeam Prizes
Moonbeam Network has provided a total of $8,000 in rewards for the hackathon. In order to encourage participants to develop on Moonbeam, we will set a reward for each theme individually, and additional rewards for one particularly outstanding participating team. We will also provide long-term support in forms of Moonbeam Foundation grants and training for winning teams to accelerate the development of high-quality projects.

The Best Overall Moonbeam Project Prize x1
The best overall project from all Moonbeam submissions will receive an additional $2,000 Grand Prize.
